Nexera provides a full complement of innovative health care consulting and project management services, delivering solutions with real, sustainable results. Nexera's unique understanding of health care business, clinical operations, and technology provides organizations with a new perspective on supply chain management, contracting, strategic sourcing, procurement, and materials management information systems.
Hospital Supply Chain Purchasing and Process Assessment
Nexera managed an $8.5 million cost-reduction project for a large New York City area–health care system. Nexera addressed client initiatives including standardization of physician preference items, consolidation of vendors, and renegotiation of major outsourcing contracts, resulting in savings, system-wide standardization, and improved operational efficiencies.
Long-Term Care Purchasing and Process Assessment
Nexera led a complete cost reduction project for a mid-sized nursing home and rehabilitation center in the New York metro area. In conjunction with clinical and non-clinical administration, Nexera led the implementation of five separate cost savings initiatives, which resulted in more than $450,000 in recurring annual savings.
Project Management and Operational Improvement
Nexera served in the project management role in a joint venture collaboration with two leading food service industry vendors, delivering dietary operations efficiencies and cost-reductions from improved food costs and lowered labor expenses for a large, integrated delivery network with locations throughout Greater New York. Benefits realized to date include policy and process enhancement and an estimated savings in excess of $10 million annually.
Hospital Laboratory Process Improvement
Nexera led a laboratory process redesign effort with a large urban teaching hospital. Recommendations included improvements to receiving and registration processes, redesign of physical layout, technological enhancements, and improved alignment of staffing with workload.
Hospital Cost Reduction and Clinical Process Redesign
Nexera managed a complete supply chain cost reduction assessment and implementation engagement for a mid-sized community health system in the New York metro area. Team members implemented 12 initiatives and process redesign opportunities, capturing over $3.2 million in total savings to date. Specific areas of improvement included significant enhancements to the OR inventory process, vendor negotiation and standardization, and implementation of a hospital-wide inventory management system that allows automatic replenishment of inventory.
CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
"To me, Nexera is excellent for many different reasons, they know the specific kinds of problems hospitals face, and they don't just identify them--they fix them. They're able to integrate with hospital staff in a non-threatening way, because of their clinical background, but also because of the attitude of their consultants. But most of all, we feel like Nexera is genuinely vested in our success--we're not just a client, but part of a partnership."

"With the way that health care is progressing, financial administrators are always looking for potential ways to combat rising costs of health care. Bringing in a consulting group like Nexera has helped (our facility) take advantage of various innovative savings opportunities and efficiency improvements throughout our facility. Nexera was able to identify some sensitive areas and was skilled in addressing them (e.g., vendors that have been overcharging us and operating as "favorites.") in some cases, in working in collaboration with Nexera, we have been able to approach these vendors with competitive pricing requirements, which has led to cost savings."
